Are You Looking For A Reliable Webhost? Are You Good With Web Building Softwares? Let me first begin by stating that I am NO website expert. I'm just an average person whose knowledge of computer software do not extend beyond MicroSoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. When I first decided to start my own web portal to share my experiences on starting a daycare, I was totally lost about what's a good webhost and what's a bad webhost. I thought that all I need to do was to ensure that my website carried good content. But I could not have been more wrong. My first experience with a webhost was so terrible that I almost wanted to give up. I shall not name names but all I can say is their hosting service were perpetually under maintenance and when they were not, some functions did not work. It was extremely frustrating. I cancelled with them when my contract was due and decided to try out a free webhost. My first experience with a free webhost was awful, their response was really delayed and I could not get anything done. Then again, it was free so I could not complain. I signed up with a second free webhost which I saw in a review. It was rated 9 out of 10 stars. I was hopeful and immediately signed up with them. I did not get far with the second webhost because their web builder software was too difficult for me. Like I said earlier, I am not an IT expert so I need something that is really simple and easy to use. I did a little more research and learnt that good webhosts costs money. I was disillusioned because I was not some big time online business and simply did not want to pay $10-$20 dollars a month on webhosting. Thankfully, I came across this website which reviewed webhosts and came to learn about StartLogic. The review about StartLogic was very positive and best of all, the hosting fees was affordable - only $5.95 per month! After checking out the website, I found them very professional looking and decided to sign up with them. And I must say, the experience with StartLogic has been wonderful. These are the things which I love about StartLogic. I can have as many email accounts as I want They have a 24 hour live chat means that if I face any technical problems, I can call them anytime. And they are most helpful and patient especially when I have many "novice" questions. The web builder is extremely easy to use (especially important for a non IT expert like me). The picture above is a screen capture of the web builder software. Just look at how easy it is to use. Let's start with the the first button from the left - "Add Text. All you need to do is to click the "Add Text" icon and a screen pops up for you to key in your designed text. And, if you need to add a link or a picture, you just need to click the icon and select the place where you would like to place it and voila, it's all done. No need to understand all the complicated HTML languages. I want to share with you another feature which I use a lot of, to keep my website looking neat and love, because it is so easy to use. I've learnt that to ensure that your webpage looks professional, neat and well organised, the trick is to use a table. I tried using table with a few web builders and was unsuccessful because it simply could not understand all the various HTML languages that goes into it and could not make my website look the way I had wanted. With StartLogic's web builder, I can easily create a table, decide on the number of rows and column, the width, height and colour of the columns and rows, the width and colour of the borders and whether I want to align left, right or centre and top, bottom or middle, without knowing any HTML language.
